The Gossiping Tongue - Day 11 "30 Days to Taming Your Tongue"

  • Gossip is idle or malicious talk about the personal affairs of another
  • Gossiping can lower your sense of self worth
  • Catch yourself before harm happens
  • Why do you do it?
  • - Attention?
  • - Envy?
  • - To feel superior
  • Make it a point to abstain

(Proverbs 18:8 ERV)  People love to hear gossip. It is like tasty food on its way to the stomach.
Staying away from gossip is something you have to be intentional about, because as it reads - gossip is "tasty." You will be tempted to listen to the gossip, and may even be tempted to take part it in, but resist. You need to stand up for righteousness. You need to be the shining light for righteousness in the face of gossip.
(Matthew 5:16 RNKJV)  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
